Engine file question

Dors anyone have any suggestions for fixing the TrainzItalia FEF and Challengers so they don't lauch like cruise missles at 300 mph when you load them into Driver sessions?

Noticed that this doesn't seem to be limited to just those 2 locos. Some from earlier version do this, too. Is there a source of information for creating engine files somewhere. Searches don't come up with anything.

Hello, Fitzsimmons,

I understand your problem: updating the engine files of our steam locomotives to TS2009/2010/12 standards is driving me crazy. I have spent countless hours trying to fix them by trial and error. Unfortunately, the procedure to make a decent steam enginespec seems to be the best kept secret of Trainz :) .

I made some progress using Billegulla's spreadsheets: both the FEF and the Challenger now work more or less as intended, but still need some fine-tuning. I hope to release the updated versions soon.

Thanks for the reply. I don't feel so stupid now that I know the pros are having problems finding information, too.
