EMD CF7

I am not sure, but I don't think that there currently are any, though I think that I remember someone saying that they were going to make one. I really hope so because they really were great engines. Nothing like a rebuilt F7.

I am going to reskin one of them into Blue Mountain & Reading (Berks County, PA short line now known as Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern or Reading and Northern) livery from the 1980's. I have a mega route of merged routes, DEM, from central NJ to Horseshoe Curve, PA, to Philly, and lines north of Reading into coal country and up beyond Scranton, PA. Here is a picture of the BM&R CF7 from the 1980's.
I believe they are all off the R&N roster now, some scrapped. They were unique diesel locomotives. The company got them from Santa Fe in 1984 and they were delivered to Hamburg, PA in SF paint with the Santa Fe painted over. BM&R started freight operations in Sept. 1983 on a 14 mile ex-PRR, Penn Central line north of Reading that was owned by the Commonwealth of PA and leased to the new BM&R, it was operated by Conrail from April 1, 1976-1983. BM&R expanded again in 1988 with the takeover of three branches, all ex-Reading, Topton-Kutztown, Emmaus-Pennsburg, and Pottstown-Boyertown. Then, RBMN was formed in Dec. 1990 with the takeover of Conrail ex-Reading lines north of Reading into Schuylkill County. BM&R started tourist operations on July 13, 1985 on it's original Temple-South Hamburg line. Now they operate the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe and run on the ex-Jersey Central and Lehigh Valley lines north of Jim Thorpe.
