Electric Commuter Lines

Just wondering can does anyone know how many electric commuter lines the US has cause the only ones I know of are NJT, METRA Electric, Metro-North, SEPTA, South Shore... does anyone know of any others? And I'm only talking electric commuter, or is what I listed basically it?

im new to this so dunno if it would count, but rtd has been building electric around denver, co for.....many years lol.

http://denverinfill.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-02_FasTracks12-826x1024.jpg is the map of what co should have today....it's late but nearly 2/3rd-3/4th done.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FasTracks is what they call the project.

Ok ill have to check that out.

LIRR and MARC

Oh i forgot about MARC and i wouldn't count LIRR in what im talking about im talking about commuter lines that use over-heat wires for electric commuter lines.

So would light-rail count?

I think a few rapid transit lines are also under wire. It's gone now, but the last overhead on the Chicago "L" only came down 10 years ago.

If light-rail counted, then there are dozens of lines that could qualify.
I'm thinking he means more heavy-weight kind of stuff that would be allowed to run alongside standard freight equipment, like Metra's EMUs and NJT's electric loco-hauled suburban trains.
I think it's called FRA compliant? I dunno. I'm not so great with modern technical terms, despite my age.

This wiki article has a nice list of Commuter Rail networks in North America, however it doesn't specify power sources. Shouldn't be to hard to run thru the list and find out.

There are a few which also may or may not classify as "commuter rail'. For instance NICTD (formerly Chicago South Shore & South Bend) refers to it's self as an 'Interurban' line, not a commuter line, although most places list it as a commuter line. And in reverse you have the SEMCOG line going in here in MI, which calls it's self a commuter line, however it isn't always classified as that (usually listed as a 'regional line').

PS; if you want to include the few Canadian commuter lines, AMT runs some electric service.
