EJ&E in Trainz

No problemo - I'll have it ready for next week. The Joliet yard is just perfect for Trainz if you want good fps...

You do realize, that this route is in excess of 70 miles long, with several branchlines, and HUGE HUGE yards, and with sprawling Steel Mill complex's, each containing several hundered miles of track in each yard, and some of which are 70 tracks across ? Click on this link---> http://www.ejearchive.com/page_maps.html and click on the 5 B&W maps to get an idea of just how immence this project would be to replicate it in the prototype's entirety.
Here is a great crossing diamond of several of the areas RR lines.

I see; isn't there free/payware developer we could suggest this idea to, one that would be willing to undertake this monumental task?

LOL.....If we had karma in here Woody I would give you a plus one.

Thanks George.
I always like to turn on my natural born "Northern Snobbieness" every once in a long while...
Here's to you for getting the humor out of it!
As many times as you could drink to this topic...I'm glad I'm not 21.

@cascaderailroad,
Good Gravy!
$4.50 per mile, my dad doesn't even make that in his truck!:hehe:
Dang, I need to get into route building...

Cheers,
Woody:wave:

I really have been thinking about this Steel industry orientated RR. Laying tracks are easy, so are signals. Seems everyone wants a true to life prototype DEM with hundereds of miles of track. This is totally unneccesary. The EJ&E couuld be condensed, and only the important parts would need modeling. A steel mill, connected to a mainline, with a fabulous multitracked diamond crossing, ending at a lake port, with a iron ore unloading facility. It might be done in 4 baseboards...or it might be done using 30 baseboards...try your own hand at it...it need not be a huge extavagant 1300 baseboard route in order to portray a steel hauling RR.

There already are several routes that have plenty of this type operation.
Philskene: "Urban Industrial" and "Industrail"1-7
Philskene: "Philskene Steel Basic v1"
Philskene: "Steel N Scrap 1a"
CincySouthern: "Bethlehem Steel CL"
Annastazia: "Railworks Steel Mill Project"
Maddy25: "Steel Industry - Continuous-Process Strip Mill"
Jkeenan: "BldgFlat_SteelMill"-Is a Steel Mill backdrop
Gay Evans has several Scenarios: "SwitchTower" 322, Nick & Lisa
