editing grade crossing bell sound

I have tryed downloading sounds and replacing them with that sound and on some crossing it works and some it doesnt and am wondering whats the difference for it not working on some

Are you putting the referenced bell sound in both sections of the config.txt file? There is the top section with the reference to the sound and then there's the Kuid-Table at the bottom of the config. If you don't update both sections, the sound won't play.

If these are my crossings then check the properties of the crossing in surveyor and make sure the non working ones aren't set to bell mode 0 which turns the bell off. Also make sure the .wav name in the extensions table match's your new .wav name exactly. And you don't need to worry about putting it in the kuid table since the script calls for the bell sound internally from the crossings folder.
