I started building my new route well not so new. I'm makeing it run form Halifax NS to Cornwell ONT. Thats over 1500miles long. I need good route builters ( Canaidan mainly ) to help with this project. any one wishing to jump in PM me. this route needs to be 75% based on the real thing. I'm not picky on the building trees or bushing but the track must be almost dead on.

sound like a project your intrested in let me know thows who help in some way with this will get crateds for there work.

The number of CN routes for TR are sverley lacking and there nothing in the way of routes east of ONT there alot here just waiting to be explored in the TR woruld!!;)

1500 miles... H'mmm if it takes around 3 months to produce and detail a 25 mile route then you are looking at around 15 years to do this project.

Well at least by then there will probably be a version of Trainz capable of supporting it, at the moment even the latest version of the software will struggle to build/run a route 10% of that size.

Good luck though.

Ture but not really I was planning on pie building the route into phases wich would be 6 maps its not going to be the hole real lanth thats impossable to build every detail. I'm going to be building the most importen parts and skipping the useless borning stuff. with a team of 8 guys on the project it would take 2 years or so.

I am thinking of doing a cross country Canada route as I have been across many times by train and know the scenery.

Yea I been as far as conwell ont I'm building form Halifax to truro and on. I Already have build Halifax station and Truro as well its just a matter of laying the new lines and fixing the existing map up. if you wont to help feel free to.

With respect, it is still going to take a time to be honest. I am on a railway build that is less than a quarter of that based on a whole complete passenger rail company in GB and it is taking an age. You have to stop now and then or you get overkill. Also, modern life doesn't always give us the time we might want on a build either but keep your aim in mind. It took me well over three and a half years off and on to build a city and it's former street tramway system. This present project is also time consuming due to the number of towns and villages, roads, level crossings and even farmer crossings I am putting in so as near the real situation as possible. All the surrounding streets of these population places are as per what is there in reality. Tackling such a big item is to be commended as long as you know there will be challenges to time and progress!

You should check out the timeline for the Northeast Corridor, that's already several years in the making and still nowhere near complete - best we've got is Philly-Wilmington, unfinished DC-Baltimore, and independents working around NYC with drchoi21 doing a lot of work at and around Penn Station. Believe me, it's an undertaking. Especially when you take into account all the various branches and where to put the portals for those so that it blends into the scenery. Even one mile of scenery can take months.

Last I hard Northeast Corridor was going to be paywere and never hard anything more about it that was back a year ago. Then some one said it was freewere then that given up on it becuse of a lack of intrest. rumers i guss what i wont to know is were is it now ? I was never able to find it.

I agree with you rjhowie turst me i know it has taken me 4 years to build my huge route Dragons Pass and its stell not done. with this route I olny ask to do olny what your willing to do. I don't have a time limet of reless date set. its not a mager thing that must be done now its do wend you have the time. I already got 3 projects including this one. If i get a few feet of track done that thats all i can do for now. no pursher bro.

Well that's constructive with your thinking and don't try to set yourself dates because I know from experience that one is hard! But good lock to you and as i say you stick to it.
