Script errors

I installed East Kentucky 3 v1.1,<kuid:203465:100011> into TS12 and the two sessions. I did one and a half days work on cleaning up the kuids using PEVs tools so that they are error free. The only missing assets are a couple of moving men.

When I start Endless coal all the assets are there and I can DCC the trains: but I get a script error and all the driver commands of the session are missing. Has anyone else come across this or is it just me?

DriverCommandRule : Thread Exception: ER_Exception, line 417, file drivercommandrule.gs (1)
DriverCommandRule : World.AddDriverCommand> not a DriverCommand asset: <kuid:131986:1002> (file world.gs) (1)
DriverCommands : Thread Exception: ER_Exception, line 167, file drivercommands.gs (3)
DriverCommands : World.FindDriverCommand> not a DriverCommand asset: <kuid2:61392:1050:3> (file world.gs) (3)
ArnLib : Thread Exception: ER_ArrayOutOfBounds, line 62, file arn_lib.gse (3)

How should I go about fixing this?

Hi Spruce

I don't have TS2012 yet so I am unable to check anything in person but there is another thread current in the TS2012 forum where a session has issues with the "Navigate To" and/or 'Navigate Via" commands in 12. Both commands are used extensively in the session.

Given the total mess N3V have made of the route with their mandatory retirement of Trunda's trees I'd be giving the route a miss on that platform anyway...

Andy :)

This is a pity as the route looks good. I am able to set up my own commands. Would there be a list of them somewhere and I could input them by hand?

I read the error messages more closely and found that even though I had no missing assets indicated there were three driver commands still on the DLS. Derail train, CoupleTo VFacingTrackMark and Drive to TrackMark List. When I downloaded these the driver commands appeared in the session. There are still scrip errors in file arn_lib.gse, which I assume is encripted and drivercommandrule.gs.

Sofar so good

 It's not a version thing, I have trains stopped at signals & junctions with Clovis type autopilot signal distance settings in the trainzoptions file...some trains want to enter an occupied block because they both selected the same track at each end junction to that block.

Yet I can't say that is the cause, just that it happens in 'o9/'10 combo.

TS2010 doesn't pick up driver commands as session dependencies, therefore it won't go get 'em by itself nor will it show them as 'missing'. Kinda silly, but that's the way it is. I did include all the required driver commands though in a cdp you downloaded with the session, it is packed in the same 'rar' file :)

Can't help much with script errors, just not my thing. A post in the 'Scripting' forum is probably your best bet.

As to driver commands for the session posting your own is pretty easy: Empty coal trainz from the west portals go to either Jeff or Dent yards, empties from the East go to Hazard. Manifests and locals run portal to portal. IIRC the AI will keep all trains on the correct main line tracks except through Dent and Hazard Yards and past Comb's Tipple (west of Hazard) where they need 'Navigate Via TM' help. Once the AI gets the empties to the main line yards, it was up to the user to decide where to send them...

Thanks for the reply. I have been shifting between three versions of the sim and probably misplaced the cdp with the driver commands in it. Anyway all are installed now and assets fixed to the warning level in TS12. So you are to be congratulated as the route looks really well ( even given the speedtrees) and the viewing distance into the distant mountains is great.

EK3-ST

checkrail's next release (in conjunction with trainz.up) will be EK3-ST.

ST? SpeedTrees! Pofig has re-planted the entire route using his trees, including a whole heap of new content for the route. He has now passed the 'converted' route back to me for some more detail tweaking and additions. The new version of the route is identical to EK3 in respect to trackwork etc, but look for lots of other changes in addition to the new tree content.

The route is currently TS2010 SP3 but will possibly be moved to 12 if performance increase warrants excluding users of the earlier version.

When? No proposed date, but I think 'soon' is fair...

Here is the first screen cap from a test section on the new route...

Help CSX GP40-2 YN3

I tried everything(delete, reinstall, delete again) but I am not able to play Endless Coal or Jeff's Coal. Loco CSX GP40-2 YN is not visible on the track, neither in TS2010 or TS12. In the railyard, I can select the name, but don't see the image. In the surveyor, I can not select the loco, the name is in red. In the driver setup, the name is in black, next to the driver, but there are no GP40's on the track.
What can be the problem?

Well I know in TS12, none of those CSX locos from USLW and WCT work, which makes the session "not work". I don't have 10 though, so can't say anything about that.

Those USLW engine are actually a little old and some of them show errors in 2009. They worked in 2009 when in Compatibility mode. Had to fix the errors to get them to work in Native mode.

I moved them to 12 after I fixed the errors and they work fine...

That might be why they are not working.

So you fixed the errors in 09 then transferred them? Hmm, I guess I could try that... I always ran in compatibility mode in 09 so didn't go about fixing the errors. And once imported to 12, they weren't fixable.

be nice if it was a installer where you didnt have to track down all the kuid's, i have ts12 and it had all kinds of missing assets and depend..

As pointed out the locos used in the sessions are 'old'. It is clearly stated at checkrail that the route is designed only for TS2010 SP3 Compatibility Mode and the session will only run in TS2010 SP3 Compatibility Mode.

The problems you are describing have three possible sources: (a) You are in TS2010 Native Mode; (b) You are in TS12; or (c) if you are in the correct Trainz version you are missing loco dependencies.

For (a) and (b) I can offer no support, for (c) all dependencies are listed (with links) at checkrail...

[grumpymode]There is nothing to 'track down'. There are TWO comprehensive lists of non-DLS content for the route, one listed by source the other listed by kuid. Both list include links to either the page from where the content can be sourced or (where possible) hot links to the content itself.

There are similar linked lists for session content.

To downloaded the route and/or session(s) you had to scroll past the lists.

Exactly how easy do I need to make it....[/grumpymode]

Now that I have that out of my system I wouldn't bother with the route in TS12 anyway, N3V have obsoleted the trees originally used and afaik there is no simple fix. In 12 the route is not worth the trouble...

Ive fixed most of the CSX GP's to work in TS12, ill try to release a fix soon(TM)

Awesome - thanks Nikos!

And Andy, despite the trees in TS12 not giving the same effect as your pictures from 10, this route is still epic in nature and my favorite to run on!

Justin Time...

Ive fixed most of the CSX GP's to work in TS12, ill try to release a fix soon(TM)

 I'm so glad to see this post Nikos!

Your mischievous GP40-2's at first worked OK...then I started noticing a missing shadow warning...

Fixed the shadow thing & committed...missing numbers 3,4,5,6, illegal Icon warning...

Fixed, then "this item cannot be committed because it contains the wrong kuid."(?)

But they showed, except for CSX ex-Conrail GP40-2...It not only disappeared, it took the entire coal train out with it! In fact, I coupled a certain Chessie System GP30 and...get this...it disappeared also!

I first noted this because I had to wait for a clear & barely could hear it pass, then got a clear & looked in Mini-Map & a whole train had went by...:hehe:

I could see the locomotive referenced in the Edit Session/Edit Drivers(the first entry), but was missing from the find object tool...you were presented the train, could hear the sound, even see smoke, but no visible train.

You can imagine trying to deal with a train you can't see except in Mini-Map!

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your work on these locomotives, they have a great interior & hornsounds & look great!

I think an update must have happened to the game behind the scenes.

This occurred using TS2009.

Absolutely no offense intended Nikos, I don't think the EK3 Sessions would have been the same without 4-axle GP40's!
