"....In other news today, a 3D artist that goes by the name of Pofig has developed a shrink and digitize ray. He has used this ray to steal large portions of a forest for one of his programs..... He is still at large...."

The basic package is ready. Need a few more small trees and long work on correcting the vegetation along the railway. It turned out pretty hard. Old computers can not eat it. Choke.
Andy. May I offer this version of your route for users to test?

I have already PMd Pofig with a 'Yes' but perhaps a word of explanation is in order to others who have asked to release modified versions of this and other routes of mine and have been denied...

I have a blanket 'No Variations' rule on all of my routes, and this will continue to be the case. But when somebody has made dozens of new assets simply to place on the route it's a bit hard to say 'No'. I also use Pofig's trees almost exclusively in other projects and the permission I have granted him is a simple 'Thankyou' for the huge amount of quality 3D content he has contributed to the community.

So to Pofig my thanks.

To pretty much everybody else: No, you can't....

Andy ;)

I need those trees bad, serious not kidding.

Where can I get them? do they work in TRS12???

I need to know.

Cheers

I tried following those links, as I can use those trees, unfortunately, it takes you to one of those idiot download sites that keep giving me the runaround, I guess I will still continue to use JVC and DMDrake's trees!

Near the top of this page, Pofig posted one image. At the bottom of that post is a signature which the word "visit" and a small image. Click on the little image to get the trees.

I just checked Skid but the trees are not at TrainzUP. I assume they will be there 'soon', but they are not there yet. I agree the current download host is a nuisance, but it is worth the run-around...

Andy ;)

Remember back when TS2010 was released Auran made speedtrees automatically replace a lot of Dave Drake's trees on imported routes?

Well I have just seen screencaps of the mess N3V have made in TS2012 by auto-replacing Trunda's trees with speedtrees. No attempt has been made to match the size, style or colour of the originals, just a random set of new trees hacked into any route using Trunda's vegetation.

I would urge anybody with TS2012 who wants to run EK3 to use Pofig's version of the route available from elsewhere in the forum and NOT import my original. His version is very close to what I had in mind, and his trees are about as good as 3D trees get.

The auto-replace thing has to all effects and purposes trashed the original version of the route...

Andy :)

Yeah those blasted speed trees have made it almost impossible for me to run some routes I have in TS2010, why is N3V pulling this stunt, they would have to realize by now that their speed trees are crap!

Wandering off topic and I DO NOT want this to turn into a tree-bashing thing - I am a whole-hearted convert to Native Mode performance and therefore 3D trees - but for the life of me I cannot understand why when there are beautiful trees like Pofig's available freeware that the in-the-box trees are so dead ordinary....

Andy

We need a bucket truck...soon...

 I can relate to the arbitrary replacement of originally placed content, but what problem do SpeedTrees give?:o

You can replace the different species of trees if you know what to use, right?:(

I can't wait to see what happens to my Orin Subdivision Powder River route under construction...there are no trees for hundreds of miles!:hehe:

I like billboard trees.

Runs really great on the Steam version of TS09, great draw distance and great FPS.

Happy in Trainz land
