Dual Monitor - How do you set it up?

I have 2 1280x1024 monitors and they are set as one wide screen.

I selected 2560x1024 in the Trainz 12 launcher.

I got this...

Looks pretty good, eh?

Trouble is, the menus all end up split down the middle because they are rendering in the middle of the wide display, where the monitor frames are.

So, I add -dualhead to trainzoptions.txt

Menus now appear only on my left monitor, but they appear to be squished versions of what should span both, and when I go into driver, I get this....

Ewwwww....

Thing is, -dualhead is always discussed with older versions of Trainz (again, this is TS12).

The only thing that may be off is that I can't select any of the aspect ratios in the launcher's option screen, because none of them are right (I need 5:2) the only choices are:

  • Autodetect (selected)
  • 4:3
  • 16:10
  • 15:9
  • 16:9

Any wisdom?

I ran into the same exact problem when I had 2 screens, I was never able to figure it out.

But not using -dualhead would be the best option although the menu will then be in the middle split between 2 screens. In my experience dual head and triplehead(I run triple screens) messed everything up further. So I had to just grin and bear the menu until I got a 3rd screen which then rendered the menu correctly in the center screen and center screen alone.

F***ing figures....

On the other hand, even two wide is freaking sweet - I'd love 3....
Yea when I added the 2nd screen way back when I was in awe. then when I added the 3rd I was in awe yet again! Multi screen trainz is definitely the way to go.

Hopefully someone else may come along and provide more incite or perhaps even a resolution that I haven't thought of or yourself.
