Driver Meshes

I'm looking for some good driver meshes for reskinning. I'd like to reskin something that looks more suitable for a North American crew or driver.

If anyone knows of any I'd be glad to hear the kuid, asset name, or web site where the could be found. Searching for them on the DLS can be somewhat difficult because there's no category for drive meshes.

There are many drivers, including Fred Flinstone, Robo Cop, Yosemite Sam ... etc ... which can be re-skinned easily.

Probably you could put Willy The Gimp in a cab, if you knew how to edit it into the config file

I searched by those names and didn't get any results. That's the issue is there is no real category search filter for driver meshes. "Driver" category in CM only brings up the driver icons not the meshes.

In CMP 3.3, starting with a blank search panel, type "Driver" into the search text box and select Category = Mesh. That got me 86 driver mesh assets.

I've done that. They're all have odd looking hats or are cartoon characters. Typically North American engineers don't wear hats. I was hoping someone might no of a good one that might be suitable for North America.

A lot of them are in fact the standard Auran driver, perhaps with a new face, only the driver character (the one you see displayed in the list of drivers) is the cartoon character etc. Some are new but you would have to download them to find out unless somebody gives more information here.

I was hoping to skin something to get this look and feel. I think this has been the standard dress code for US engineers for 30 years or so. :hehe: Flannel and blue jeans...

RRmods seem`s to have some that fit your bill there and there`s a engineer and conductor. Not sure which engines if there payware or freeware. I believe the payware for sure though. Heck since you brought this up I might replace some of my generic Auran drivers with them. :hehe:

Yeah I have those. They look great and that's exactly what I'm going for but they need some work on the mesh file. Most locos the guy on the left sets halfway outside the cab. I think Joe over at RRMods made those and I know he has a lot on his plate right now. They came with a MoPac payware loco I purchased. They do fit in that cab correctly but most others they do not.
