i was watch a PRR 1361 video The pride of altoona. and i notice that the 4449,s tool cars was on the 1361 train. Was doyle McCormick himself helped with the restoration of the k4 the frist time?

Yes, he was involved with the rebuild. No, he will not be working on it again because he has his own projects to work on. No, they will not move the Daylight to Altoona because the Friends of the 4449 are busy preparing the engine for its move to the Oregon Rail Historical Foundation site for future placement.

That answer your questions?

That, and the fact that SP 4449, SP&S 700, and OR&N 190 are not owned by their respective organizations or ORHF, they are actually owned by the City of Portland (or more accuratly, by the parks department, as they were on display in Oaks Park). I believe part of the requirements to letting these engines run is that they will always have to be based out of Portland's city limits.

That said, the equipment owned by the respective groups doesn't have to follow that. I believe that when AT&SF 3751 went to the Grand Canyon years ago, they used 4449's water canteen for the trip. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...)

Doyle a legend of modern steam.

So Doyle is a well know steam locomotive owner. A legend of modern steam.

MODS?

this one needs to be closed as well, and lets get one thing straight before this happens,Mccormick is for the southern pacific RR's GS4 daylight engine #4449,the #1361 K4 pacific is a PRR engine, which in my opinion will not steam again unless other wise, but still, those two don't go together, thank you!

I think dpfan digs up some pretty good photos of trains.

I have my own thread: "PRR Horseshoe Curve Sreenshots" ... dpfan should have his own single thread, that he sticks with, to post all his steam loco photos and information ... sound like a good idea ?

Instead of starting dozens of different threads ... why not just make one main thread especially for dpfan in "Screenshots" or "Prototype" ?

Dpfan could name his specialized screenshots or prototype thread: "Dpfan Trains" or something like that ?

is there other steam locomotives that doyle can work on beside,s 4449?

Can Doyle work on other steam locomotives besides 4449. Like MILW 261?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! HE WILL NEVER STOP SPAMMING WITH HIS USELESS DANNY PHANTOM,STRASBURG 90,K4 1361, STEAM,ETC JUNK! (Sorry, I had to vent) Mods, can we close this and every topic DP has created? PLEASE?!?!

Can you work with one thread like cascaderailroad suggested? You know, the suggestion you completely ignored and then went on to ask another, pointless question? Please, if your would do so, we could save space for other, ACTUAL threads.

Doyle McCormick does NOT own the 4449 or the 700!

(Though he does own a Great Northern F7A, a Nickel Plate RSD5, and the "Nickel Plate 190" PA.)

The 4449, 700, and OR&N 197 are all owned by the City of Portland. In fact, the 4449 sports plates right under its Lima buildersplate stating that it is leased from Portland. The City leases each engine to their respective group with the catch that each engine is maintained.

This has been bugging me for a while, though. The 4449 and 700 both run because of the efforts and time spent by many individuals. While Doyle McCormick may be the one in charge of the 4449, this does not mean that he is the sole reason why it is running. Think of the group, not just the one name you know

:/

We know you don't like DP. But you SERIOUSLY need to stop spamming complaints yourself.

PRR 3750 for parts?

for replacement parts for 1361. Should the 3750 be used for replacement parts for 1361? If they did 1361's old parts would be put on 3750.

Oh for the love of steam.....why don't you ask HIM not US!!!

And believe me, working on ONE steam locomotive is hard enough. Try a small group of volunteers (very skilled volunteers) maintaining 3 in operational condition, with a 4th needing decisions made on how its being restored by an outside contractor, cosmetically restoring a 5th locomotive, and maintaining over 50 operational, and non operational railcars. Think about that, and you have the dedicated volunteers of the Colorado Railroad Museum, which I am happy to be part of. One man cannot handle several locomotives scattered around the country

Stop posting this stuff when you have no idea how railroads work in the real world. Its hard, greasy, dirty labor that few people can imagine unless they have actually done it. You have no idea what it actually takes to do this sort of work, and continuously ignore people like me who really do know what it takes. Please think before you post
