Downloading older route in TRS19

Thought I try out a very old route Muldentalbahn from the DLS, its build 2.6
learned to start by just download the route first, by selecting "download this version"
now it starts downloading dependencies, have a few questions:
-is there any logic in the sequence it downloads dependencies?
-is it really downloading obsolete items also? (why no check?)
-Why are there so many versions of assets, while I learned even the old work fine often even better?
-Is there a way to force the game/route to use the older(original) version?
-Do you all delete the obsolete items, or does that give trouble with other routes?
-What happens if a kuid2 version number ends on 127 and it needs an update?

I've imported a TRS2004 route I started in December 2003 or early January 2004. I pushed the route through TS12 to convert the files to the new format needed for TS12 and up. The route came in flawlessly then I laughed because of my fine work back then. I had some good ideas and after some clean up and trimming, I integrated a portion of that route into my current iteration of the same line.

Unless it's absolutely necessary, I clean up out-of-date and obsolete content daily. This ensures that there are no residual conflicts.

Dealing with :127 assets is difficult. This is something that I leave alone because I don't know how to get around it due to the circular nature and zero-inclusive numbering of the version. In some cases, I was able to replace the assets outright with better ones and deleted the older :127 ones I had installed.

Why I first must download an older broken version, is beyond my understanding
kuid2 143205 39284 1 Bahnhof Burg und Niedergemuenden
had a broken smoke tag, easy repair, replaced, "c" by 0.1 in the config


All complete now and within a day, this how it should be
no PBR at all, route looks fantastic, recommended !
Normally I start modifying at once, this one looks great as it

The way to do download this version, is to stop the download after the route file is installed then go to view dependencies and get any available for download assets. That way only current assets download rather than the versions in the config.

Why do we need to download the old ones? I think that's a bug in how versions are handled in TRS2019. I've run into missing dependencies because I had a newer version of an asset installed and never had the old one ever, but the route I installed looks for the older version. This is the same with DLC as well as my own routes and third-party.

Yeah John, hope the version issues are better dealt with in TRS2022


Positive surprised how well an old build 2.6 route works in TRS19
(without going through other versions first)
no PBR, speed trees, procedural track, framerates are very good


Removed about 40, "Installed from DLS,Obsolete"
that only have dependants "Muldentalbahn"
The others marked the same are used in other routes so don't dare to remove them


Consider adding a few hidden passenger stations, to bring more gameplay in the route
