download station

just curious if the download station is malfunctioning again?
i have been trying to get the latest releases from davesnow for the last two days and haven't been able to get anything.
no i do not have the pay for downloads ticket. i have enough on my plate with medical bills for my wife to be spending another 20.00 dollars.
by the way my number is 86311 so if 86,000 people spent 20 dollars for the fct ticket it would bring about 1.7 million dollars to trainz to host stuff that people are making for free. i seriously doubt it cost trainz that much money to host the download station.
i have been with trainz since the beginning and it seem lately that the trainz people have lost site of what this program is about and they certainly don't seem to care about their customers.

doesn't work for me as a matter of fact the models from dave snow are showing up in a pink bar. apparently the cm can't find the pieces.
i am glad it is working for someone.

Yes, I am having trouble with it too. Just can't download anything. And I do have a FCT.
Very odd.

I was just about to post the same question. I'm getting unknown errors when trying to download anything from within CM. Do I need to pay to get downloads or is something broke?

Sometimes the database goes out of synch with CM. You can download the items via FTP and then install them. I've done this with excellent results.

If you don't want to this, wait a day, and the stuff that shows up with a pink bar will be fine tomorrow.

i have tried to download via the ftp with no success. i really do not understand what the problem is.
i downloaded some of davesnow models and didn't have a problem. by the way i am not singling davesnow out. i also have tried with other creators with no joy also.
last week i posted that the cm is no longer showing assets in alphebetical order like it used to.
i don't know but maybe a re-install is looming near?

Sorry to hear of your problem ejb--but i am having a bigger problem. All my downloads are totally black. Have done extended and quick database repairs so many times to no avail. Starting to lose interest in game. Any advice from all trainz gamers welcome

djtdad55, the problem you are encountering is a common one.

It is due to a texture compression issue.

To fix it:

1.Load Content Manager, then click File, followed by Settings.
2.Click Miscellaneous.
3.Click in the box labelled 'enable hardware acclerated texture compression' to remove the tick.
4.Click Save.

Once done, you will need to open for edit, then recommit affected items (both of these options are on the right-click menu, under Edit)

Trainz 2009 Content Manager download problem

Can anyone help me. I have been trying to download from the down load station for a few weeks well without success and I recieve an error message say "Unable to download, server appears to be full please try again later". This if for anything I try downloading Is this particular error unique to me or is there a patch or fix that has been released for this

Download Station Problem

The Download Station seems to not want to work for me at all. I don't want to buy the FCT because the station used to work without it. Also I can't seem to get through to the FPT either even though I have the username and password for it. What can I do to fix this WITHOUT BUYING THE FCT!?!

Nothing is broken, just overloaded, buying a fct is the answer, as the old saying goes, "Money Talks".

Yup, not broken, well fast, lots of downloads at the speed of sound whenever I want them, and all for just a handful of pennies a year. Magnificent.
