Download station

I am new to trainz and I have the Ultmate collecton which I have recently installed and been enjoying but I would like some more layouts that are in the uk. On the download station I have seen the Heathrow layout and a couple of others I would like to download but I dont understand how I am supposed to download them and install them, there are no instructions. I have purchased a 1st class ticket, I have clicked on ""Download"", ""Download page'' and the ""Add to cart"" but nothing seems to happen, what do I do please to get these layouts installed.

Hi bob and welcome to the trainz community.

Have you used the content manager before, if not start trainz. when the splash screen comes up click on content and it may ask for a username and password

It could possibly be your browser too

If your using internet explorer navigate to the route you wish to download and hit the download button below the picture it *should* automaticaly start the content manager and download

If using Firefox and you do the same above and it doesnt work head over to http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=43579 and have a look

In reply - Still at a loss

Hi as per your instructions I have opened my copy of trainz and opened My content manager, went to download site but nothing happens, it does not ask me to log into content manager, although I am logged into the download page. I am using windows XP and ie8, still nothing is downloading, still at loss as to what I am supposed to do to get the layouts from the download page to my copy of Trainz.

ok i think i see whats happening.

say if you want to downlad a route

go to the dls, log in and hit routes on the navigation bar between rollingstock and scenarios.

once you have found one you like the look of click the picture it will then open up a new window.

in this new window there will be a picture the same as you clicked on bellow this picture there will be 3 links, Download, Download Page and Add to cart.

Hit download if all goes well the content manager should launch and start to download the item. it will appear in the list on the left hand side on the content manager, if it doesnt do nothing there is two buttons below, if you get a stop and a clear button its started, if you get a start and a clear hit start.

If you mean uploading content to the Download Station (routes etc) you must have Trainz Classics 3 or later installed and in use in order to have the correct trainz-build tag (2.8) required for uploading.
