Download Station still not working and no answers

This is typical of many of the newcomers here. They complain about a problem but ignore the offers for help when asked for more details.

Sawman, I think your problem is your RAM. I belive it has to be high 3 to 4 for CMP to really work at all. I ran into the same problem. Thank you for getting back to use with your specs!

Thank you Michael for getting back to us with the information. I agree with Ryan, you maybe tight on RAM. The program uses a lot of resources when it is running.

Out of curiousity have you tried running just CMP without going through the Launcher. You'll need to navigate to the folder where you installed Trainz 200x. I found I get better performance out of CMP using this method.

Unfortunately today the DLS is having a hissy fit so any troubleshooting will be touch and go with less go available.

Nag Nag Nag

I got a brilliant PC too ,but don't have to tell everyone ! The only thing I worry about is the time wasted plus money spent adds up to a JOKE. Same system , worked for years. Technology is supposed to be better ? Then programming at fault. I'd sack my staff ! Nuff said. Go on then all the blabberjaws . . . . watch this space now fill up with know it alls that should be using the program , not texting each other on here ! If it worked they wouldn't have the time to be on here in the first place ! Go back to your MSN boys .
Yeah whatever. I blieve the purpose of this thread is to ask a question and get answers, sometimes comparing systems is a good way to figure out the problem.
Before you go of on your little bashing sprees, understand the problem:o .
Cheers.
PS DLS sometimes don't work for me either nad BTW, I have a Dell with Vista:cool: .

A "Dell with Vista" is not exactly the pinnacle of computer wizardry, and I don't think you need 3 to 4 Gbs of memory to operate CMP (1 or 2)...

Still working here, just finished downloading the SAR Peterborough Division and assets.

Try giving exemptions in your firewall to all the .exe files in the TS2009\BIN folder................

Might work but there again i might just be pissing in the wind.

Hi thanks I just went and re checked all the.exe files and they have permission in the folder also went to MSN.com and looked at how to set up firewall again just to make shure that it was done ok still the download is not working thanks

availability to import and extend ORIGINAL work , so you don't have to remake it all ! Just got it , imported my work and the track has gone all over the place ! Bye Bye 2009 version , but will I get refunded ? I doubt it ! If this was in a shop the Trading Standards would be informed ! That's a thought . . . see ya Steve[/quote]

mmm same thing happen to me in trs06 i just deleted the track and it was all right ,m rember back nack back up you lay outs

Back ups

No Prob done that before ! Glad I'm not the only one ! Smarty pants in DB land seemed to think I know nothing ! He don't know me , never will now ! hah . Still not amused though after all the hype and requests pre building new version that aren't sorted on release. Must have cutbacks everywhere nowadays ! I wonder if the creators ever read these and feel guilty? I would !

Hi Ryan

I just put in 4 gb ram we went to a computer store and picked up 4 1 gig stick about 2 weeks ago so I have another computer just like this one that I got just for trainz so I borrowed from to get 4 in let it run for a while to see if it will download. thanks

mike

Ok Sawman. Like I said this might not be the problem! Although it was for me. I hope this helps as when I upgraded my system it did.

Best of luck!

Ryan

I too am having issues with DLS. It works, but at 4Kb/sec it's SLOW! Not much to say for a FCT holder. Is this normal? I'm in the eastern part of the USA so it's 10:00 PM right now. If I do a DSL speed test, I usually get 1.2Mb DL speeds and all other web sites are fast -- just DLS is slow.

Tranefan have you activated the FCT yet? It will sit there until you go into your profile and ask for it to become active. Then it may take up to 24 hours actually work.
