Download puzzzle and frustration

Some months I replaced one of my 2 pc's (one used for Trainz) with a great improvement one. Trainz works brilliantly on it but when it comes to downloading from the DLS I get a little puzzled.

The pc has 2 storage areas a 250SSD and a large HD and Trainz10 is on the SSD. No probs but when I try to download using the Cart it won't happen. I get a message up saying...''

'Opera was unable to open the link since no application association with "trainz" was found on your system.' It only allows me to deny.

If I try Windows I get 'Unknown protocol'

The only way I can get items is to download one a time is a nuisance.

G'day, why not use content manager to download? If you copied trainz to your new PC or just bought it over on its hard drive there will be on registry entry and therefore trainz cannot be found by the program. The cure would be to install trainz in a new folder, then copy your present trainz to it allowing overwrite and that should work.

Easier than that is just set up the file associations, Shane Turner has a utility that will do that for you on his site, protocol changer, if you don't want to do it manually.

Manually.

Right click on cdp, open with, or open, select a program from list of installed programs, browse to Contentmanager.exe and select, put a tick in always use this program, OK.

Thought I would try the Shane pro first but I get stuck at an open window that I should pick the Trainz version from but it is blank?

Sorry for delay folks my erratic health issues at work again. I must have done something wrong Shane but I don't recall any errors so maybe I should try again and see how I get on as that would be a lot easier than a loing re-install process. Will get back to your link again Shane.

If it happens again, I will need to check if the trainzversions.dat file is being created in the same folder as the program.
