download problem

Have recently bought ts2010 and registered the serial number successfully but using a profile name I had used with an older version of trainz (it just seemed like a good idea at the time and there were no warnings to say it was not a good idea). When I tried to use the programme shortly after installation I was then asked to register at Planet Auran (so I could use the Download Station). When I tried to do this it would not accept the profile name I had registered the serial number with (as being a profile name already registered) so I created a new profile name different from the one associated with regisietring the serial number. As a result I can't use content manager to download as it says the user name is not recognised. I have tried usiing both profile names but neither are recognised in Content manager. I have submitted two tickets to the helpdesk over several weeks which has generated a standard email saying serial numbers are never moved or words to that effect. I am going back to the retailer for a refund but would like to give this one more chance to work. Has anyone any suggestions as to what can be done to fix the problem, please? I feel like I have hit a brick wall on this.
 
Stick to the original user name and don't try to create an account for it as you already have one. Just put the details in the appropriate places in the launcher options. Username and password.

If Clam1952's advice does not help then .....

Try logging on to the forum using using the name for the older version and then click the "Profile" button (towards the top left of the forum page). You will get another browser page and need to login again using the same name and password. Now go to the left hand column and under "Trainz" select the sub heading "Serial Number" - check what versions of Trainz are registered under that name and post again with the result.

(Please do not post any serial numbers on the forum.).
 
For what ever reason, on the download station, it says that the download link is unavailable. I tried CMP also, but it says that the server is full. Feel free to ask me about the serial numbers registered, although they are registered on my other account. That is the account that I download stuff off of. Could someone please help me?

Thanks for your suggestions. I can't login into the forum with the old user name and Content Manager does not recognise either user name. I then seem to end up on Planet Auran from the forum which recognises the old user name and passoword and says I have a registered copy of TS10 with the correct serial number (and says I can use the download station) but no joy after that.

I don't think the helpdesk have understood your problem fully, I'm not sure I do! You should try contacting them again (maybe referencing this forum thread).

One thing you could try is going into this account and changing your password (you can use the same one). This sometimes kicks the account into life.

Otherwise I think it is something only the helpdesk can resolve.
 
the problem continues

well helpdesk finally replied to me on April 18th and I am no further forward: registered the serial number but no downloads!

Clarify what you mean by no downloads?

As I understood it, you bought the CD copy, and it is now registered on your PC However You need to register the serial number in your profile as well to get full access to the forum and probably the DLS. Currently you are showing as having no version of Trainz.

I assume it must have installed ok you need what ever name you registered under to be the same in Trainz and online and the one the helpdesk set it up for.

If you are just having problems with the DLS then you need to have a read in the DLS FCT forum.
