Huston, texas, USA. At a hosting provider called ThePlanet. No i do not have inside info, but I can use traceroute and google for geoip.

It's quite anoying when something is out there, but you can't quite get it.

I think Auran should do this with a torrent. It's not difficult to set up and at the end of the day its only a file transfer method you still needs the keys etc via another method such as email or display in the profile. Save them money on download bandwidth costs as well as being more robust.

Cheerio John

Well... I can only say that while I wait, on Cyber Monday, for Auran to get this all sorted out, I'm checking out the Railworks Challenger Edition available from Steam. <shrug> I just want a model railroad simulator, and I want to play with it today if at all possible, while I have the day off. Yes, it is terribly frustrating when something is out there and you just barely can't get it. So I suppose that's why I'm considering an alternative.

Last file d/loading now, 30mins still to go, John.

How are you managing to download the files John?

I have been trying on and off all day long and I keep getting the overload error every time.

The FTP server also looks like it is overloaded! Won't get past accepting my username and just times out.

This really is shocking Auran :( I cannot believe nothing was put in place to prevent this from happening, did they seriously think there would only be 30 users trying to download this at once or something?

With such a large amount of data there should of been multiple download sites ready from the word go! Mirror servers in USA, Australia, and Europe. Bandwidth does cost money but when you are offering a digital download you damn sure want to make sure people can download it! Not having a tantrum but instead am totally confused how this has happened, it just isn't acceptable to overlook such an issue.

This is plain out ridicilous. Does Auran consider their own game so bad that they didnt anticipate this demand on their servers??

Frustraded first time customer.....

Don't people realise that servers can only handle so many lines at once. One cannot just say "make it 100 times bigger for the next 2 days". Even the mighty Microsoft's server was overwhelmed the first day we could pre-order Windows 7. I know because I tried and they eventually closed it because of overloading.

Ergo, P2P or Mirror Sites are key elements in planning any software release, which clearly, Auran could have done better. That's all we're saying. You can get bits out there, if you want to badly enough. If only Auran were P2P smart - they could have used their bandwidth to upload and seed a torrent of the install files, instead of insisting that their skinny pipes are adequate to satisfy our needs.

Well ,I started early (before 8am ) and things went well for first 2 d/loads but were more difficult this afternoon, probably because USA was awake!!
The last one was the worst, I nearly gave up but persistence won in the end. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow when the first rush is over! John.

Ts2010 (build no. 41491) now installed as standalone, took 20 mins. on Windows7 system. Waiting for data base update (scanning for modified asset files) to complete then I can check the ECML route !! John.

Those waiting for the ECML won't be disappointed, it is huge !! I havn't fully explored it yet but I have seen branches out to Hull and to Immingham docks, with possibly more that I have not seen yet. Only appears to be one session so far, John.

I'm getting the following explanation regarding the "Download Link Not Available" message:

Reason:
  • Access Denied: You do not have access to one or more of the directory the file is under.
::sigh:: Been trying for hours now.

Hi All
The admin is not in yet, however I have sent him a message to let him know that the download server is not functioning correctly again. We will attempt to get it back online as soon as possible.

We thank you for your patience as we attempt to have this issue solved as soon as possible.
