Can anyone help with a problem I'm having with the download helper link on the download station. Whenever i click the link to download an item, I get a message pop up saying "Trainz is not a registered protocol". This is using Firefox, If I use IE7 I get a "page can not be displayed error" Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it, but check in FF Tools> Options> Applications. Inside the list should be an application "trainz". See the screenshot. Make sure it uses the CM as default. Hope it helps.

I followed the instructions above which replaced the protocol error with "Unable to Register Trainz URL registry key"
hope i dont have to re-install Trainz

Try to set it to ask every time and when FF ask you what to do you choose the "Content Manager". With me it suddenly started to work after messing about.

How do you get Firefox to add the trainz protocol to the list that shows up in the Applications options screen shown above? I've had no luck getting Firefox to recognize the trainz protocol. I'm using the FF 3.0.5.

trainz protocol error

hi everyone,

i have discovered how to deal with the trainz protocol for win 7 at least. this is by messing around with content manager, and fire fox. i went into content manager and just kept it in the cm for a bit . then i went to firefox (without closing cm) i then discovered the tools, options, and apps buttons like everyone asked about. i then just went to those very tabs and i saw that the drop menu had use cm (default) in the box. i don't know how it happened. maybe someone with win 7 can also help me figure it out. i am able to download now.
