You Did Put into content manager and hit commit but if you did just go up to the top menu in survayor and turn off the little star and it should sohow up
Did you download it from the DLS or from another website? If you downloaded it from the DLS, CMP should automatically install it for you, but you might have to turn off the 'favourites' filter in order for it to show up in the Trains list and the Railyard by the way daylightguy mentioned.
If you downloaded it from another site however, it's pretty easy to install it into Trainz. Load up CMP and under File on the menubar at the top select 'Import CDP' if the content has .CDP after the file name.
Then locate where the content is saved on your computer and select it from the file directory and click 'OK'. Your content should then appear in Trainz 2010.
If the content is saved in another format though (like a zip or rar file), you'll have to firstly uncompress the CDP file/files and save them to another location before you can import them in CMP, as CMP can't import content from a zip/rar file directly as far as I'm aware.

If you downloaded the SAR 500 off the Download Station be aware that it was made for the first version of Trainz when our computers were less powerful than the Netbook computers you can now buy. As a result the model was designed with low poly and textures.
Also the sound files are for the original Trainz, to get decent sound in TS2010 you will have to replace them with sound files designed for TS2010.
The other problem is you will have to run TS2010 in compatibility mode, which may be why it is not visible in your rolling stock list.
