Double Decker Coaches

Hello youifhonk, yes, as WEN says, it would be a good idea to tell us which ones you mean, as we don't have them in the UK......:p

Now, if you mean the Amtrak and MARC ones, then have a look on this website which are OK for TRS2004 and 06; http://www.connylubing.de/

If, you mean from Poland or any other country, European or worldwide, then you'll have to let us know and I can get you an appropriate website address......

I just found three on DLS searching for "bi-level" (without the quotes) in the description.

BTW, when searching try "carriage", "coach" and "car" as all three words might be used.

We may not have them in the UK now, but we did in the late fifties or early sixties. My dad was very good at finding oddities in the railway system, and I remember riding in a double-decker coach, I think it was on the Southern region and we boarded the train at Waterloo East. Maybe these were the 4DD's mentioned above.

Try on this website then for the GO, http://www.protrainz.com/download.htm
unsure about Metrolink, I'll have a look around, your best bet is to ask the American Trainzers, you'll get a few replies I'm sure.....Ask on the USA Pics thread.

The easiest way for Metrolink is to reskin the GO coaches since they use the same type of coaches for both railroads. So if you go pick up a tutorial on how to reskin, you will be all set;)

There are a number of reskins of the GO coaches into metrolink however magicland (the creator) has stated that he plans on doing a payware package with them and so will not allow said reskins to be released.

I know the man that created the real coaches used for the metrolink and GO. My family has known him for a long time but I only recently found out that it was him that designed the coaches.

Hello all:

I am currently building in Trainz 2009, the route from the north end of the Metrolink shops located at the former Taylor Yard located in Los Angeles Ca.to the north end of the San Fernando Valley and the west to Canoga Park.

THis is a joint operated section that is currently used by AMTRAK, METROLINK and the UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD.

Since I grew up, live and work around this area, I thought it would make a great add on to the game.

Would love to find someone to make the Metrolink cab and coach cars., the closest I have found to these cars are the GO cab and GO coach by Magicland also needed is the NORLINA single head signal, while the type made by
seniorchief are correct, the route requires in some places a single 3 aspect head.

I will be including all of the sidings and stations past and present so that it can be run pre 1990's as well, all you would simply have to change the signals to searchlight type found on the download site.

I will also be installing all of the detectors along the line and will put them on the DLS also.

Any comments will be welcome.

So far its taken about 2 months to get to the point that it is almost ready, just a few bugs to fix.

I have posted the Trainz 2009 dragging equipment detectors for download.

You will find them under DETECTORS on the DLS search, once installed they will be found under signals in surveyor US region. Simply place on track and click the ? to change the milepost and detection settings.
Hope to hear from anyone about this project.

BTW a reskin of the sounder cars would be great because in recnt years Metrolink has been using them on thier routes.
Thank you
:)

UK Double Decker

http://www.bulleidlocos.org.uk/_oth/4_dd.aspx

I used to travel regularly on this in the late 1950s, (there were only 2, 4 car units made, these were coupled together to make one 8 car unit. It was slow accelerating and claustrophobic on the upper deck. There was no corridor and really it was an exercise in stacking a lot of people into a small space.
