Do you dream about trains?

MKT Forever and always
Random question, i know, but it hit me recently that until a few months ago, i really didn't dream about them. I can recall maybe two or three from my early years, but that's it. But ever since earlier this year (somewhere abouts April or May) I've been having about one a month. It's strange in the way i never really used to have them, but fun that they're usually really cool, like sitting on the roof of a 9F's cab and driving by reaching down and pulling the levers:D. I just wondered if anyone else here has dreams about trains as much as I have recently, or if they do at all. maybe they don't and i'm just that weird:hehe: :o.

anyway, any thoughts?

I had a really scary dream once when I was railfanning and a car got slammed at the crossing down a ways from my railfaning spot. The train was one of the usual CN trains with an SD70M-2 leading, and it stopped right in front of me. I ran up to the car and nearly tripped over the rail to find one of my friends was in the car...

Not a fun dream. Another one I was at that same crossing, but I ran out to push someone out of the way of a train, and I ran back and tripped over the rail. I pushed off the rail side and dragged myself away from the track feeling nothing but rumble and hearing the K5LLA of another SD70M-2. The train came within inches of me and an I got up and woke up.

Cheers,
Joshua

My Trainz dreams are in wide screen Panavision, have Dolby sensurround sound, and the endings have rolling credits ... and my dreams not over until the Dolby/Kodak symbol rolls up !

I dream about owning a C17 and AC16 and driving them around QR with my house as a QR coach like the one by MSTNodle, and a model train set on a 5-plank wagon!

And Herbie is there on a flat wagon, of course!

The title reminds me of a Train Town scenario, where the person says:
"Deep in dream, a dream about trains..."

The most recent one (and the one that more or less prompted me to start this thread) happened last night. I was in the mountains of Colorado and happened to walk up on an old, rotting timber trestle that flew over a canyon something like Cascade Trestle on the C&TS. In front of it was a stone tunnel portal reading "Lebanon and Colorado Springs." Even in the dream, i knew it was talking about Leadville, which meant the tunnel had to be the Busk-Ivanhoe. Later on, we came down in the tiny hamlet of Sparks, Colorado, to find abandoned grades and mining tipples galore, along with an old steam engine that looked something like a cross between an Army S118 and a K-36. it had the same name on its tender "Lebanon and Colorado Springs." Suddenly i was back in sparks in the 1890s as the first train on the railroad (which i found out was a part of a grand scheme to built a coast-to-coast 3ft narrow gauge railway) coming into town. I remember guys wearing cowboy hats and six-shooters walking around, looking for a "rabble rouser" from the Union Pacific that was trying to sabotage the railway. somehow, i knew that he had doomed the line to what i saw in the present. when i came back to the modern world, all i could think of was "what would it have been like if this had suceeded." but the only answer i got was the hissing of the steam engine as she left town on the last tourist train of the day.

yeah, i'll see you in a decade when i finish it...having done nothing else in my life during that time:eek: :hehe: :o

Last dream I had about trains was when my crew was moving some coal hoppers to the car dump and they forgot to throw the derail. What a mess, actual didn't do much damage but having to call SP was emberassing.

I dream about Trainz. Usually what I have to do the next day to get it up and running correctly with all DLS and non DLS dependecies in place, without faults.
OOOps - off topic - thats my nightmares..!
(Just finishing a complete reinstall of TS2010 after TADeamon corrupted too many files).
