I notice that Trainz games are now sold on the Steam site. Does this mean that I can't INSTALL and RUN any Trainz game unless I'm logged onto Steam, like some other software companies.
I would buy the Boxed version from N3V (Shipped via Snail Mail) ... and avoid Steam.
What little you save on Steam, may be problematic.
I hear that there are many satisfied Steam users ... and N3V digital downloads work great ... if you have a high speed internet connection (as it takes hours to download, and internet connections can fail corrupting the download).
Out in the kichen' boiling water in a kettle for my own steam ... for cawfee'
If you buy the Steam version then yes you will need to be logged into Steam to use Trainz. However if you buy any of the other versions from any other retailer (N3V, your local shop, Amazon, etc) then you do not need Steam at all.
As long as I don't have to run a Trainz game through Steam, that's good as I prefer not to do that. I'd sooner be holding an Original Disc and not have to run it through a third party. Keith
