DLS & Forum Colors

Get over it
I know I'm getting older but it seems that the colors on both are kind of faded out. Is it my old eyes, computer or are others seeing the same thing? Any way to darker the text? Thanks.

Try the settings on your monitor (usually a pop up panel when you press a certain button) and in Windows (Via control panel or right click on your desktop), there are endless combinations and a lot depends on your hardware so it's hard to be more specific.

As well as the eyesight going (I know he feeling) your monitor could be 'fading' a bit, can you borrow a newer one to do a comparison ? Or simply by a new monitor ? (I have 4 24/29 inch IIYama screens which are great - but all slightly different ! - they are good quality for the price , UK price that is).

Use Firefox, and get the apps: "Color That Site" and "No Squint" ... my DLS, White pages, in game CM, and Forums are pure black type, and a medium gray background ... there is also a Windows, Window Color custom appearance that you can set all sorts of things colors to gray background ... feel free to PM me, or contact me on Skype UN: cascaderailroad

You can make the font sizes larger by holding the Ctrl button and rolling the mouse wheel.

I find that helps, with no need to mess around with installing additional software. I set mine at 150% on my 20 inch screen.

And I'm pretty sure Firefox will remember your zoom settings for each website, too. :D

I currently use Chrome which seems to do the same until I delete all cookies etc. However, the Ctrl roll mouse wheel option is quick and versatile enough not to need it to be remembered.

Recollection is therefore not imperative. If it ever becomes a problem, I'll look for a memory upgrade implant. I wonder if you can get them on the NHS (like plastic lens implants after cataract surgery)?:D

I've used Windows since V 1.0 (Yes, there was a 1.0) and I didn't know that Casper - you live and learn  !

Yes. It's a useful tool to use on all sorts of websites and applications. Hope you find it useful.

I use it a lot when looking at maps and plans, particularly .pdf files. Our local council planning application plans can be blown up to reveal all sorts of fine detail which cannot be seen at "normal" magnification.

On the forum though, I have noticed that although the text will grow larger, screenshots will reach a certain size limit, after which they will not increase in size. In fact they seem to slightly shrink when rolled up to maximum.

Casper.
