Ditchlight attachments

Hey all I have a question about flashing ditchlights in 09. It has been said in many posts about the ability to add flashing ditchlights to any engine in 09! I was told in a post it's about adding attachment points. I was wondering how/where do I do that to have say, on of Franks, loco's ditchlight's flash?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

As far as I know, you can't simply add attachment points to a model. Like most other aspects of the modeling process, they are added to the original mesh prior to being exported to Trainz. Unless you have the mesh, I think you're out of luck.

Also, I think Frank creates for 04-06, so it makes sense that his models don't have that attachment point. Those versions don't support ditch lights. I believe that feature was added to TC.

As for Franks loco's it was just an example I know it wouldn't work. The post where I read this is on the TrainzForums. Made by TommyG here is the exact post, and I'm sorry if I have misenterpreted anything!


Not yet, should be coming my way soon though. And yes, 09 allows flashing ditch lights if you call the attachment points 'a.ditch0' and 'a.ditch1'.

I could be wrong so someone please tell me so if I am!

You can create a new attachment mesh with the a.ditch attachment points. Then attach this mesh to the loco's mesh in the loco's config.txt file. An example of this can be found in this link http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=38353
