Display adapter update

I am a bit confused. This is in regards to trainz 2006 and trainz classics 1 and 2. I am getting a bit worried because my display adapter is getting older. A couple of months ago, when I installed trainz, the trainz diag came up to run some tests to see if my laptop was good enough to play trainz. The test passed but I got a warning.I believe it said that my video or graphics drive needed to be updated. I don't really know how to correctly do this. First, I tried going to device manager and then clicked on display adapters, and then it said Mobil Intel (R)4 series express chipset family. Then I right clicked and updated the driver. About 20 seconds later, a box pops up saying my driver is already up to date. I don't think it is up to date because the trainz diag still says that my graphics or video drive needs to be updated. It is almost 30 months old. I would like to solve the problem soon because I would like to be able to play the new trainz simulator 12 when it comes out. For now, trainz acts really good on my laptop with high quality content even though the graphics or video drive needs an update. My laptop has dual CPU's working at 4.2GHz.

Here are the specs:

Dell Inspiron 1545
Intel Pentium Inside Dual CPU T3400 (4.2GHz)
4 GB Ram
Windows Vista home premium

I also have a 1TB external hard drive to back up my trainz content.

As long as trainz is working well for me, I am proud.

Basically it involves going the the website of your video chip manufacturer, finding the exact driver you need, downloading it and then installing.
Since it sounds like the first time you have done this, I would have a friend help whose done this before. It is possible to make the display unreadable with the wrong drivers.

Ill get my neighbor. He is really good with laptops. Or I will go to staples and pay them a small fee. Since, this is my first time messing with this, I won't do it myself. I might damage my laptop screen or burn it. :)

Ignore the Trainz message, your driver is the latest one available, Trainz just checks to see if the date on the driver is more than 12 months old.

If you have windows update running it will identify new video drivers if one becomes available. It's not worth going to Staples for this.

I should also point out that upgrading or patching, just for the sake of upgrading, without having checked out any benefits as well as any problems people have had, is often a bad idea. I had intended to point out the problems with nVidia drivers as an example but I think there are enough people around here who would be willing to argue that some of Trainz' service packs are proof enough of this.
