Director Install

So i have a 6 gb ssd as well as a 6gb external harddrive, is there a way to put trs22 into my external harddrive without reinstalling? or is that the only method? just curious?

Do you want the entire install on the external hard drive or just the data (content) folder? The data folder can be moved. Not sure about 22, but in T:ANE and TRS19 if you got the launcher-Trainz Settings-Install tab, there is a button called "Instructions for moving your content"

Hello Blackout16,

Do not mind but are you sure of the volume of your SSD ? 6Gb is nothing at all ! The basic installation is already a little less than 10Gb?

Yeah the game fits I just want to transfer the install location as well as the user data folder to the external HD don't have any space issues.

I don't think they make any 6GB drives, so I am assuming that is a typo. I think if you want to change both, you probably want to reinstall Trainz before moving the data folder. I think you can install trainz wherever you want, but it will still default the data folder to the user appdata folder, and then you can move it from there.

ok, so reinstalled game to external, and transfered the local folder, opened trainz up and logged in through the settings and did the database rebuild, its not picking up my content, like its not there but its all in the folder.

At the Launcher:

Click on Trainz settings
Click on Install tab.

You'll see the path where the content is currently located...

Click on the ... on the right of that bar.

Explorer will open up...

Browse to your external drive within that Explorer window.
Once you see your relocated data folder, click on Select on the lower right hand part of the Explorer windows.

Trainz will want to restart after running a translation tables thing.

Once completed, restart and check your settings and ensure you're logged in - this is under the Internet tab.

Start up Content Manager and all should be there.
