Digital Download Install Problem Fix

I have been reading a large amount of posts on the forums in regards to installation issues with the Trainz 2010 software.

If you like myself ran into a problem finding the setup-1a.bin file during the installation, i found that a simple renaming was needed.

My issue though was odd. The file I downloaded for setup-1a.bin was actually named setup-1a.bin.bin. It took me a few days to figure this out sadly but yes I am very happy about it. Before going through all the crap I did to try to run an ISO compiler or all manner or different scans to check for corruption. Just check the file name. The other files of course were named correctly.

That's usually the way it is when troubleshooting a problem, dude. I've been a hardware and computer technician for over 25 years now, and it's always the simplest things that fix the problem. Your method of using an ISO compiler is akin to taking out the firehose to blow out a match! It happens usually because we think too hard about the problem.

My feeling is Windows, and most applications that run on PCs, should have a stupid sh* button. Click on this to find/fix the stupid sh* that goes wrong with the PC.
