Diamond heaters?

Whilst modeling the crossing of NS Sandusky district and CSX in Columbus I have noticed what seem to be heaters at the diamond crossings? I have never seen anything like this before.

Interesting, after looking at the photos I'd be willing to bet that the diamonds have swing-nose frogs.

I wouldn't doubt they use something like that up there with all the snow and ice. I've seen them around my area as well in and around North Station yard.
