Deletion packaged/payware items that are obsolete

I have a lot of packaged/payware items that are obsolete. Is there a way to delete them. Database repair does not do it.
I would like to recoup the storage being used.

To my knowledge, dlc package assets are not handled the same as DLS installed assets in your local database. There is only a pointer record that references the assets as located in the tzarc files. The assets that are part of the dlc package remain inside the files in the packages folder. So you can't delete individual assets. You can uninstall the dlc packages from the Trainz Content interface. At least, that is how I interpret the behavior they show.

thanks for the reply. I have heard mention about an extended DBR, how it that done, and what is the end result?

Press CTRL while selecting Rebuild database. In addition to reindexing content, this will also delete the precache data and cached scripts.

The extra content validating and checking also takes a very long time and the precaching can take even longer if yo have a lot of content installed.

Like a regular DBR, you'll have some assets that will show up as faulty after a repair. You will have to view faulty assets, select them and view errors and warnings to clear the errors.

When you start Trainz afterwards, you will have the Precaching Assets message at the top of the screen and when you go into Surveyor, your menus may not be available or populated for quite some time until the process is done.

Perform an EDBR only if really necessary because the extensive repair process.

Thanks for the insight. I would think the word obsolete, means that another version has taken it's place, making the old version redundant. but that is my thinking.
That's correct. The packaged assets have been deprecated by the one that was downloaded and installed from the DLS.

You are correct. You can use Content Manager to delete any asset labelled "Installed from DLS, Obsolete" or "Modified, Obsolete" but you have to use the Uninstall option in Content Store to delete "Packaged" and "Payware" assets, obsolete or not, by deleting the entire DLC package that installed them.

Those labelled "Built-in, Obsolete" or "Base, Obsolete" cannot be deleted at all.
