Defrag Question -

Hi,

If you defrag your drive once a week you can't really go wrong, I do mine once a week whether or not windows says too or not, depends on how much moving stuff around I do, installing and uninstalling stuff.

I never set windows to do it, I do it manually when I want.

As far as I know there is only 1 file that windows doesn't like moving, and that's the page/swap file as it is being used by windows.

Other then that, thread is a little confusing... :hehe:

Thanks Aussie,

I am just going to ignore it, and you are correct, this thread is confusing, even to me, and I started it :hehe: :hehe: !

I failed to give all the details in the first post, thus making it hard to follow :'( ! And I know better !

A mod may delete it if they care to ?---DLR

Try to use Diskeeper. Don't analyze, go for defragmenting every few days so it does not take very long to do it. Interesting: If you defrag with this program, Windows shows the HDD to be fragmented! and viceversa. I experimented setting the page file in a diferent HDD, and things run faster, then I made the paging file to be in a flash USB memory... It makes things even faster! anybody has experimented this?
