Davesnows ES44AC interior on a JR ES44AC

What do i do say if i want to put davesnows ES44AC interior on a JR ES44AC how would u run about that?

Is there a way to get JR's NS ES44AC/DC to have one of the custom cabs because for some reason I can only see the screens and controls but no real cabview...Im I missing something in the config?

When a locomotive is created, the attachment point for the future interior is called "a.cabfront." If every locomotive creator would put that attachment point in the exact same location, i.e. x0, y0, z0, any cab would work with any other similar locomotive. I always put my a.cabfront at x0, y0, & z0. Unfortunately other locomotive creators put their attachment point at a different location, therefore the interior shows up behind, in front of, or sometimes buried in the ground on other locomotives.

My question is, why would you want to use my crappy Interiors when JR's are so much better???

Because the JR ES44s don't have custom interiors, they use the built-in default.

Yes and no. You can use attachment maker to place an interior; but if the locomotive already has an interior attachment point you have to disable that one, which means editing the original mesh.

the 0,0,0 is XY and Z. You would enter a negative number for Z to adjust relative to the original attachment point, example 0,0,-5.
I tried using the cab "Interior for ES44AC Tier 4 NS,<kuid:578474:100098>" By davidakridge and it worked just fine without having to adjust height. Maybe Dave's are different, but I thought these (Dave Snow and David Akridge) loco's were all the same, David Akridge's just being reskins. Bear in mind if you have to shift the cab mesh you may have to change the camera view coordinates as well, but I may be wrong about that.

I would hate to bump this old thread up, but I've just figured out how to adjust the height to fit in any JR ES44.

Just clone whatever ES44 Tier 4 cab and put these in its config file:

This did pretty well when I tested the NS Tier 4 cab in my JR ES44AC's and you can tell me if this method works for you.

how about putting davesnows SD70ACe cab on a JR SD70ACe? I also tried the ES44 cab mod and it works fine on my CSX ES44DC using davesnows CSX tier 4 interior
