Dave Snow's KCS Hoppers derailing problem

This isn't an indictment on @davesnow as his content is overall very good but even the best asset creators make duds on occasion. The KCS Covered Hoppers have religiously derailed whenever I use them. This doesn't happen with any other content he has aside from the TILX hoppers. I'm sure some people, including Dave will argue that there's nothing wrong with the hoppers and it's something wrong on my end. I argue that it's not me but rather an issue with the rolling stock because this doesn't happen with any other cars by him or anyone else for that matter. I just had a train derailment and this is what I was able to muster up. The KCS hopper in this picture didn't derail but the other ones did. When I replaced them with other hoppers no other derailments took place. This obviously means the rail cars have some issues that I can't figure out. Again, not an indictment on Dave but just merely pointing out how these cars are broken beyond repair.

what are the kuids of them that you are having problems with, so others can try to see if they have problems with them, like i said above never have had a problem with any of them.

downloaded a couple from your list so far no problems with them, you sure the ai is not throwing switches on you causing the problem? have had the happen to me a few times in the past.

:D IMHPofView, I do not think this is the most positive way to draw attention to a presumed creator's asset issue by entitling it "Don't Use Dave Snow's KCS Hoppers". Not the best way to make friends over the place, but just my HPofView. It doesn't matter if the asset comes from a well-respected creator as David is, it would be the same with any others'. Sometimes we underestimate the power of private messaging.

The never ending every day new astonishment side of Alberte 😁

Side note: Trainz has many many folds but I do think that's completely new to most of us that rolling stock assets derail by themselves. It's almost impossible even though you use a grizzly as an a.bog0/a.bog1 bogie. 🤣 The only case I know was mine: I misplaced the a.bog0 in the rear close to a a.limback!!!!

I've had something like that happen with me while testing out two of the updated sessions of my Plains Forest Overhaul route after replacing all of the DLC-only assets. The culprit was a caboose that kept derailing while using the debug fuction by holding the shift key to speed up the simulation rate (which activated the Wait for Derailment command I put in the sessions).

I'm sorry you're having problems. I've never had any of my rolling stock derail. Yes, never with ANY of my assets. I don't have any advice on what to do in this case.

As for you personally, NOT to be putting you down, but you've only been a "Well Known Member" for 2 years, yet you have YOUTUBE Videos showing tutorials on how to make routes. As for my opinion, you need to be a Trainz user for at least 4 or 5 years before you start giving advice to others. I've been making routes since before 2006 and I feel like I'm still learning!! I've watched your videos and while making a route, I've noticed there are details you've not yet discovered and shortcuts you have yet to master. But keep at it and I'm sure you'll someday be a great route designer.

:D (y) I'm very pleased to see that the title of this thread was changed to "Dave Snow's KCS Hoppers derailing problem". The previous "Don't Use Dave Snow's KCS Hoppers" was shockingly pushy and unfriendly. 🤣 I even thought that Dave wasn't going to answer after reading the diiatribe presentation card into the party 'good rocking tonight'. 🤣

The good rocking tonight party side of Alberte 😁

I use those hoppers all the time without any issues. What would make them any different than any other hopper? It's not like they have plastic wheels with bits of flash sticking out of them like those cheap plastic ModelPower or Bachmann models.
