Has someone experience with getting data out of Trainz and use it with an another application on a second computer? Most of us has these days more then one computer and it would be great to combine trainz with other utils while you driving....
things such as
- rail operations on the 2nd computer, switch signals and switches from the 2nd screen & keep all your trains moving... great for the bigger layouts....
- using applications to display instruments on the 2nd display... modern locs have these days more and more digital displays in the cabines to display engine information and other data....
- installing trainz on 2 or 3 computers for multiscreen setups.... still miss the possibility to use 3 screens, one with the left view, one the center and one for the right view... no buttons anymore to look around but simple moving the head... makes the experience only more realistic...
- using the data for USB interfaces with external DIY hardware
I like to make several displays around my screen with readouts for the speed, temperature, brake pressure, etc. A kind of small cockpit to drive the train with and the cabine view will be then projected on the wall. I do know the RailDriver thing but it is for me more a big keypad instead of train cockpit.... And does it really get information out of Trainz and control it or is it a simple keypad emulator? If they can do it, then we should could do the same... A kind of bridge link that communicates between Trainz and our hardware... we are then not stucked to the layout of RailDriver but able to build our own cockpits of our favorite locomotives and link it up with Trainz... that should make the experience much more realistic.....
love to build something like this and use it to drive my trains around in trainz
the guys with flightsimulators build complete DIY cockpits in their homes, then we should also be able to build a train cockpit...
anyone any experience or playing with the same ideas?
