I wish I had the time......

I would be doing this;
Jylland_1860.jpg

The Frigate Jylland in 1860. This is the longest all wood warship ever made. She and her sister ships were feared by the Prussian and Austrian navies in the short war of 1864. They were tough, fast and agile, well manned, with good officers and crews very willing to go in harms way.

I love the relaxed coolness of my predecessors

As a testimony to the craftmanship of the Naval shipyards the four ships of this class survived until after WWII as floating barracks at Naval Station Holmen (Copenhagen) My father was stationed aboard the Sjaelland in 1943 when the Germans tried to take over the Danish fleet - an unlucky venture since the Navy was prepared an scuttled all ships not at sea. My old man was so p.... off that he joined the resistance immideately after.
Jylland survived the scrappers and spent a long time as a dried out hulk, before private funding allowed it to be restored to its former beauty. It would never sail again though. The many years in dry dock had warped the keel to an unrepairable state.

Beautifully restored (click the pic to see more) I wonder how many polys would go into this - but as you know "Damn the polys! Full speed ahead!!"

I nearly forgot; If you ever consider making a cab for a driveable sub, have a look here first ;) HDMS Sælen

I've just looked through........Amazing work everyone!!!!!! :D BTW, What actually has been released...I wouldn't mind having a go at what dreddmans' created. Looks fantastic.

@Dreddman, what are those German locos called.

Keep the awesome work up everyone. I can't what to see everything at the end of the production line:rolleyes:

The French captain didnt Lie!

There they were the 3 French Ships of the Line the very ones who slipped past the blockade at Gibraltor sitting nice and neat tucked in for the night under the Foortress Gunz LOL...."Load with Chainshot and hoist that French flag and the MV regonition code"......."I want them Dismasted!!!! so FIRE on the upward roll"........."Sir the CODE worked we're slipping in right under the French Gunz"....."Dont be too Eager Lad! the winds dropping might be a different story on the way out!!!!".......
hornblower5qb7.jpg

"NOW STRIKE THAT FLAG!! AND RUN UP OUR OWN COLOURS!!!"
hornblower6ub0.jpg

We dismasted 2 on the inward run but one of the Frenchmen made a Break for it We came around to get across his bow for another Shot under the Rain of the Fortress ...."We'll sink him in the Channel"
"And bottel up the whole harbour!"

Bearing down with astonishing speed Sir!

(Begging your pardon Admiral; The lads missed breakfast in the last foray, & could do with a bite, if you please Sir!)

Begging pardon Sir;

"Your Fired!", Sir!??.

Huh?

Captain Pellew seems to be having a bad day ;)
Don't think it will be the French bottling up the channel. Whos in charge of the lower gun deck?

Looking great - but please tell me that you will repaint some of the hulls. The natural look somehow hurts my historian's eye - especially in the case of the Napoleonic wars. Frigates and lesser ships could be "wooden" but the first and second class ships invariably were black and yellow/red/white. And remember that all gundecks were painted red.
You probably know all this, but I had to mention it as pink navy historian ;)

Classic quote: Once there was a sub lieutenant who was so stupid that the other sub lieutenants noticed!

BTW! Hornblower is good, but I find the Bolitho books by Alexander Kent to be up there with Forrester

Thanks Bud, I read those books when I was a lad, and have recently been wanting to read them again, but couldn't remember the name!

Dreddman ! You are Member of the Trainzshipyards so long as you will want . Moderator ? It proof of confidence. It issues me, that you must think a bit. Your questionnaire -poll without consultation with author of group was impolite.
I understand, that you have the vision of group. However, each can make that want. It calls democracy. I like *.pm model, you like *.im.
