Cutting the grass

343 NEVER FORGET
I have a route I love running but it has way too much grass for my liking. Can I delete it in surveyor, or do I need to delete the kuid to have it error free? Thank you

Delete it in surveyor.
Removing the asset from your game also works, but then you will have 1 or more routes starting to complain about missing dependencies.

If it's addon grass instead of built in you can find the asset in content manager, delete it, then open the route in surveyor and select main menu, delete missing assets to get rid of every instance of it. You can also delete each individual spline or object in surveyor. Do not believe the urban myth that you can delete something from the route's KUID table to get rid of it, the parrots repeat that one frequently but it doesn't work.

That should work, it's not built in. So delete it, launch trains, open route for edit in surveyor, main menu, delete missing assets, save. Exit game, back to content manager, download that grass again if some other route you have installed needs it.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could go into the route's map data files, find the entries referring to the grass splines, and get rid of them. Warning: ALWAYS make backup copies of ANY asset you choose to edit in this manner, as this may cause irreversible damage to your route.

I did what you said Sniper and it worked great! When asked to save and overwrite I said yes, now it shows me as the author. :hehe:
