Hey guys. I'm new to the whole Trainz thing.

I got a steam locomotive from my friend, but I have no idea how to add it into my game.

Can anyone help?

What version of Trainz are you using? Can you get CMP/CM2 (CMP 06) (CM2 09/10) to work? What kind of file is it?

I'm using the plain base version of Trainz. (I got it off Amazon).

It's a .cdp file.

I'm not sure of anything else.

What you have trainz version?

If you really have got the original 2002 version of Trainz (v1.3) you might have some problems, as content from later versions will not work. In general, if you have Trainz installed correctly, double clicking a .cdp file should install it in whatever version you have. If you have the 2006 version, you will have to commit it in the content manager program (ctrl+M) before it will show in-game.

I double clicked the .cdp file just like you said to, and it asked me to choose a program to open this file with.

Did I go wrong somewhere?

When it asks for you to choose a program, choose Content Dispatcher (its in My computer/ (C: /program files/auran/trainz/ContentDispatcher)
