My current version is 123794. I see references to later build numbers. But, Settings says nothing is available.
This is more a curiosity than getting into another buggy few months.

As noted by Stagecoach, those are the build numbers for different versions of Trainz+/TRS22.

Build 123794 Retail Trainz+ (Windows)
Build 123797 Retail TRS22 SP3/TRS22 PE (Mac)
Build 123798 Retail TRS22 SP3 (Mac App Store)
Build 123799 Retail TRS22 SP3/TRS22 PE (Steam Windows)
Build 123800 Retail Trainz+ (Steam Windows)
Build 123801 Retail TRS22 SP3/TRS22 PE (Windows)
Build 123844 Retail Trainz+ (Mac)
Build 123845 Retail Trainz+ (Steam Mac)

I also have 123794 which is the latest non-steam version of Trainz Plus for Windows.

That same build number became the same one used by the retail version. They've done that before and it's confusing.
123801 is the retail version while 123794 is the Plus version.
A note about the list above from Pware, the + versions are not retail, they are membership only.

123801 is TRS22 SP3 or TRS22 PE SP3
123794 is both the current Trainz Plus Stable build and the Trainz Plus Beta build. There hasn't been a beta release since the release of the last stable build of Trainz Plus. It seems that the policy of releasing WIP builds is not being followed any more. The recent newsletter hinted that a new release of Trainz Plus is forthcoming real soon now™.

Yes, that's it in a nutshell and it makes it very confusing when updating an installation because it's difficult to tell if the incorrect version has been selected or not.

Real-Soon-Now is an N3V noun and not a verb. ;-)

It is important to remember that build numbers are not related to the developmental state of the two programs. The build numbers are assigned by the compiler when they do a compiler run. TRS22 has a larger build number because it was compiled after the Trainz Plus build. This is the same with the Steam versions and the Mac versions.

Thanks to all -- as usual the customers do a better job than the vendor with describing the jumble of products. Will the next number be for product sold by Amazon?
