Creating A Seat

I've just finished making this seat for trainz and i need some help.
I want to make it so you can write a name for a station on the seat while you're in trainz, this is so it is customizable for every user.

Can anyone help me?
Also i want to know how to change the font aswell.

Thanks,
Michael

In what way doesn't it help? What is it exactly you are not able to do following the instructions in the CCG?

You've got about 10 times as many Polys as you need in the legs BTW, I'd reduce the height segments to one and reduce the number of sides if it were me.

Mike.

it tells you how to allign the attachment point, and what to put into the config.txt for an 'effect name' effect (which allows you to make text appear when you 'name' an object in surveyor). I can't remember off hand what direction you need to set the attachment point to for text, and can't access the .pdf file as my laptop (which I'm on, since the PC is packed so that we can quickly leave if the fires get too bad), since I don't have adobe reader installed yet. I also can't remember the exact config.txt entries.

And, as Mike said, way too many polys. Make the 'planks' out of planes (then 'flip' a clone of the plane to make it look 'solid' on the other side), then make the posts out of a 6 sided cylinder with 1 height segment and 1 cap segment. The bracket for the back of the steam could be done with a set of planes (I would use a 3 segment plane, then convert the object to an editable mesh an move the various vertices to the spots they need to be to give the correct shape). This will allow the model to work a lot better in game :)

Oh yes, and don't forget to apply some textures to it. If you can, use 1 texture with a couple of different colours on it... The more textures, the poorer the object will perform in game :)
