Crash when merging modules

Hi:

I'm trying to merge modules but the Trainz program crash when I thought it was completed.

I red some time ago that it was a problem for Trainz 12 (that it is I have) but it will be corrected in the next servipack.

Does somebody kows when it will be ready to download?

I have been able to merge 2~3 boards with an existing route so if you have a larger one you will have to split it up. I also eagerly wait an update from N3V, hopefully it comes before I expire!

Merge in TS12 is broken

To register your TS12 to your account, go here: https://www.auran.com/planetauran/SN_Enter_Serialnumber.php

The merge function has been broken from the start of TS12. They aim to fix it in the soon[SUP]tm[/SUP] to be released Service Pack 1.
Although it sometimes looks as if merging smaller sections works, some stuff on the inside gets broken and as a result you end up with tracks no longer movable and other strange kind of things you cant explain... until you remember using the merge function.

Avoid merge like the plague until they fixed it.

Yup. I found out the hard way too way in the beginning. I was, I think, the first one to report this to Zec and crew. We went back and forth for quite some time on this via email and the helpdesk. This is why it's important to report things such as this via the helpdesk. Hopefully they've been able to solve this issue, and even more hopefully it doesn't break something else or happen again with another patch, upgrade, or in the new version.

I have noticed that you can merge in big routes if there are no objects on them. This is great for bringing in textured routes such as those created in TransDem.

Possible workaround to the merge problem in TS12 if you have TS2010. I haven't tried this but it seems to me it should work.
In TS12 CM: Save RouteA to RouteA.cdp
In TS12 CM: Save RouteB to RouteB.cdp
In TS2010 CM: File/import both cdp's. Ignore missing dependencies.
In TS2010, start RouteA, merge with RouteB, save as Route C.
In TS2010 CM, save routeC to RouteC.cdp.
In TS12 CM: file/import RouteC.cdp.
In TS12, start RouteC and life is good.

This works sometimes. I had an awful time with getting my route into TS2010 and then back into TS12. There were so many "broken", well incompatible assets, that it took me more time trying to fix things. After that I decided to wait for the patch.
