Courious about some of my content on DLS....

*HRH in real life*
Hi, the other day I uploaded to the DLS several bogies and a couple of engine specs for a locomotive I have not released (uploaded) yet but so far these items have been already d/loaded almost about 50 times each. I am rather curious who would d/load such items without a locomotive to use them on as yet as I have not uploaded yet such locomotives these are made for.

As I am in the habit of releasing several of the same type of items/units at the same time (when finished) and as I am still working on the last of these units at this point in time. Still, it is flattering to know that some people are interested already but as said, my curiosity is somewhat raised. So please can someone enlighten me .

Btw, if someone is interested, these bogies and engine specs work in all versions of TRS/TS from TRS04 onwards up to the current TS10 as the locomotives they are for, when released, should work too. Just look at my signature pic and that is one version among others I will upload soon (tm).

Cheers

VinnyBarb

Some trainzers (especially our American contingent) make a point of downloading every item made for the sim, whether they intend using it or not.
I sometimes think it's just so they can claim to have the largest collection of content. (it's a 'MAN' thing, don't ya know) :hehe:

If you build it, they will download it.:)

Have fun,:)

:hehe: In comfortable instalments, dear VeeBee. Life is very hard and expensive of late, and trainzers cannot afford downloading the whole loco at a time. :pSo, first they pay for the first instalment and then wait for the rest. Trainzy mortgages are also a burden to consumers.

Besides, your assets are so fine that trainzers think they are going to be sold out. :udrool:

And remember that the doomy September is coming to our lives...:hehe:
:p Hollywood would have to shoot a film about the hair-raising '2010' that would be much more frightening than the clownish '2012'.

Take care, guy.

The Hollywood-doomy side of Alberte

Nah ...we're not downloading every asset on the DLS ... only each and every US & Canadian railcar and loco. 65 Gb "local" file and growing.

Whether the CMP will still be able to save things as a CDP, will be seen after Sept.

Hi Vinnybarb

I reckon some people are doing what I did in my early days.

Before I started to understand the world of dependencies (I still don't fully get it!), I'd see a result on DLS which mentioned the name of something I liked the look of. Thinking it was a full model, I'd download it.

I really must clear out my unwanted stock of horns, engines and bogies.

Cheers

I suspect much of it is clueless types who download anything new they see without thinking about what they want it for.

That's a good example, the shell is the dependency for the cab mechanism, without the cab mechanism the shell itself is useless. So 41 people downloaded the shell without downloading the cab mechanism, what do they intend to do with the shell? :hehe:

open it like a coconut :hehe:

Hi Jim!

VinnyBarb what aardvark1 said is true if you build it we will download it.

I'm going to make dozens and dozens of 1 mile long custom "New Consists" for my several staging yard(s) ... and run dozens of different types of coal, tanker, gon, and merchandise freight consists, with both East and West coast motive power, over the Horseshoe Pittsburgh Line ... Not to mention old time, and narrow gauge trains too.:hehe:

But I still refuse to run smelly NYC trash COFC trains, and the fugly BL2 :p

Well, wassup Dave, I think the last time I saw you was at the Great American Train Show in 2003, when we saw TRS-2004 being demoed on a state of the art (at the time) 1.5ghz computer - and running like a 3 legged water buffalo. :hehe: Seems to have somewhat smoother framerates now, altho it woulda been hard to get any jerkier than that 2003 demo!

Yeah but I haven't seen it demoed at the train show for years. I am at the train show every month with my model rr club and we'll be there on Sunday September 12th at the train show :)

I am one of the downloaders of your current content, VB. I was hoping to retrofit my SD40-2s with better interiors when I get a chance. :)
