coupling problem

I am using Trainz 2006 build 3092.

My layout - which is a modifed version of Glasgow to Falkirk - has devoloped a strange problem.
Every now and again I find that a loco will not couple to certain wagons.
The HUD dissapears, just leaving the camera view line. And the view of the loco becomes end on. I cannot then manage to click on the loco to restore the HUD, and have to exit the session.
This has happend to more than one loco.
To prove/dosprove the function I have placed the same loco's and the same wagons on another layout [Industrial Wasteland] and they behave perfectly!

Any ideas chaps??

Shouldn't you be able to couple your consist just by reversing your loco into it?Sounds almost like your getting stuck between manual & AI control to me.

What message are you getting ? Unless your using portals, when this happens try saving the session and re-opening the new session. Works for me when I lose control (sometimes).

Mikeinva - don't use AI - just use manual only - more simpler for the aged!
It is when I back up [or go forwards to] wagons that the problem appears - but only on one layout, not the other for the same consists.

Fran1 - don't get any message at all - just the loss of the HUD and the change of view of the loco, which I can not then get back to - and the only way to get the system running again is to exit without saving -thus loosing all stuff since the last save. I do not use portals, either

Can you use the 1 2 3 4 on the keyboard to alter loco view. I use AI control and after a derailment get similar problems. I save the session, then re-start the saved session and all is back to normal.
