Couple Questions about TS2010

Hey guys, I'd appreciate if you have any input. I'm wondering how to do the following things:

1. When I look at content in my Content Manager, there are a total of 1100+ items that can be added to the game. It says they are all on the DLS. But if i try to download any, it immediately says "Unable to download...Server may be full..." Is there anything I can do?

2. If i right click on an asset, one option is "Send to CDP." What is the CDP?

3. Is there a way to choose from only tracks, or only tunnels, or only bridges in Surveyor?

4. Is there a way to make the "Smooth Spline" not so powerful? Meaning, when i smooth a spline, it affects like 10 ft in both directions from the spline, and it messes up other splines really easily.

Hi.

1. Not sue, someone else will have answer.

2. A CDP is the file format used to store Trainz assets so you can install them onto another Trainz game, like for people downloading content from a website. The content is in CDP format, which you drag into CMP to install.

3. There is a content search filter, accessible on the left of the top menu bar in Surveyor.

4. Try clicking in the middle of the Spline?

hey captain, thanks for the input.

with the splines, ive tried to click directly in the middle, but if you've ever seen pictures or real life rail lines along a mountainside, there is only 3-5 ft of land beside the track. in trainz, my mountainous routes just look funny.

Keep trying, or buy a First Class Ticket. Sometimes this can indicate connectivity problems too. Be sure Trainz and all of it's subcomponents are permitted through your firewall.

CDP is a file distribution system, kind of like ZIP or RAR files, although specific to Trainz. When you download something for Trainz, it will usually be in a CDP file format.

3. Is there a way to choose from only tracks, or only tunnels, or only bridges in Surveyor?

There's a search button along the top that will show only those assets with the text you type in e.g. "tunnel".

4. Is there a way to make the "Smooth Spline" not so powerful? Meaning, when i smooth a spline, it affects like 10 ft in both directions from the spline, and it messes up other splines really easily.

Not sure about this.

And to expand on the explanation of the term CDP with some historical info:

"CDP" stands for "Content Dispatcher Pack", named after Content Dispatcher, which was a program included in the Trainz 1.3 Content Update Pack and with UTC and TRS2004 that was used to package assets into and extract assets from Content Dispatcher Pack (CDP) files. Obviously Content Manager has apparently long replaced Content Dispatcher for these functions.
