Corrupted Northbay Country Route 2006

I downloaded an engine from the Download Station, placed it in Northbay Country and now it will not load. I just get a black screen with a foreign lanuage message. I also made a mistake and saved the corrupted file overwriting the orginal. How can I re-install the Route. If I do a full re-install will I overwrite the download assets. Or can I re-install in another location and just move the route.:(

I would be grateful for any help

Tnx

You get two choices, right?

Choose the top one. In the english version this is "attempt to load the map anyway".

If you were able to place the locomotive, it probably just has a couple small errors. Nothing major. The map (and loco) should still work. All that page is doing is telling you about the errors.

If you actually did alter the Northbay County route, you can restore it to the original using CMP. Just right click it and select Edit - Revert to Original and the route will reload from the .ja file. You should use CMP to check the loco you downloaded for errors or missing dependencies and correct it, else delete it.

Before you ever reinstall 2006, move or save the TRS2006\local folder (it has all your downloaded stuff) to temp folder then move it back after the reinstall.

Almost everytime that you download something that comes up before the game, there should be two buttons on both sides of the black screen, right is go which will be green the other is red meaning go back. Select the green one and the game should start, this will occur everytime. Hope this Helps,

Hmmm, sounds like someone is missing assets, or has faulty assets ;)

The black screen of death (for trainz) only comes up when you are missing a dependency, or have a faulty dependency... If you fix which ever of the two it is (or sometimes both), you won't get this black screen. In fact, in TRS06 you can turn the black screen off ;)

To do so, go to the first options menu (the one off the launcher screen). Then go to the advanced options tab. Then tick the box next to 'suppress asset warning in trainz'.

This might be silly but

Is it only when you load the session with the new loco or all the time if you load just the map with no rollingstock at all?

If its ONLY the first then its something to do with the loco you downloaded , if its both then its the layot maybe.

Trying to restore the orginal is a good idear, some timew Trainz does have a habbit of saving rollingstock in the maps config and if its Faulty it can cause you no ends of problems as i have found in the past.

If that does not work the only options is backup all the downloaded content, I suggest with out that last loco and re-install

making progess

Thanks everyone.

Found out that my "Black Screen" is in Spanish - bought the progam in the UK.

Seems the locos were missing parts and so the program will run if I use the first opition on the Black screen.

Still have trouble finding NG locos.

Tnx, one and all:)

Like a kid at Christmas

Thanks Bob for the links. I've messed around with MTS for years and just discovered Trainz - a world of difference. I have done Routes and locos for MTS. I would like to into the NG community for Trainz - and leads on that?

Also is the any Siverton - Durango routes for Trainz?

Cheers
