Copy / paste and CTD

What could cause a copy / paste operation to CTD?

I have a few tracks that were left behind when the object to which they were attached to was deleted. They show in one of the route layers but are not selectable. I can attach other tracks to them and they bend when the newly attached tracks are moved. I can delete the newly attached tracks but they remain untouchable.

I read that one solution is to paste a blank area over them so I selected an empty area to one side. As soon as I click on the paste arrow, every Trainz window disappears. Repeat and the same result.

It is a DEM created route with many underground UTM tiles to help align objects. That layer as well as others were hidden during the operation. Are hidden and locked layers subject to copy / paste? Could they interfere?

There are many other objects on the same layer but I suppose i could move them to a new layer and then delete the layer with the recalcitrant tracks.

When I copy / paste in a newly create route, nothing bad happens so it seems to be something in this route.

Most likely some of the data associated with the items you are pasting over is corrupt. Please send in your route and the team can take a look.
