I'm curious why people don't do this more often.

Sit back a bit and cross your eyes until you see a single loco, then relax until your eyes focus. It takes some practice.

Hitting 'Ctrl' and '-' (minus sign) together zooms out, makes it easier for the crossed-eye thing to happen
