I can't figure out how to use the Content search feature in 2010.
I keep adding different assetts to the Pick List but it is getting so many assetts in it I can't locate what I want because the list is so long. How can I seperate items like buildings or trees or cars or trucks in seperate list?
Is this even possible? Is there a special way of adding assetts?

Thanks to All

put the keyword in for what you want, then the plus sign which will open another search, drop down menu (left) category, drop down menu (right) industry for eg.

Thanks for the reply.
I will give it a try right now and see what happens.

This is one feature that is giving me a hard time to figure out.

Thanks again.

try an author ID search, enter #113556- which is sporbust, all his DLS assets will show.

Ok this works very well to find assetts.
My problem is not finding the items I'm looking for but storing them in the picklist window. That is what I want to break up into smaller seperated list instead of one long continuos list. Is this possible?
I have been downloading items for years and the list goes on forever thousands of items.

Not questioning why but do you really use them all?

Anyway, in CM create custom filters to create various subsets of assets, perhaps based on themes. Before launching Trainz, replace the picklist with the content of one of the lists based on what you plan on working on. Then in Surveyor, the picklist will show those you preselected. Plus you can still use the filter system to control what appears in the selection tabs.

No I certainly don't use most of them. I just aquired most fo them when I downloaded routes from the dls and they got installed in my computer.
I had no idea how to get rid of most of the assetts so that's why I have so many. Now I just tolerate having them in my computer because I don't want to waste all of my time trying to get rid of them all.:(
I seem to use mostly all the same buildings and trees and industries on any of my routes.

I'm overwhelmed with assetts

Using CM, it's easy to get rid of any downloads you don't want, just select and right click. Pick Delete and they're gone.

If you would rather keep them just in case, you could send them to an archive or export a CDP or just disable them. That way they are not visible in Surveyor but can still be Enabled later.

As a alternative, you can use Content Manager, click the Installed tab to list everything you have then go thru and rate those kuids that you like as 5 stars and make sure all the rest have 0 stars. Will take a while but when you've finished you can set the Surveyor Options to only show favorites. Trainz considers all 5 stars assets as favorites so only your favorites will be listed.

Thanks guys I'm going to start doing this because I have so many objects now that it's not possible to find what I'm looking for. And it's going to take a very long time to sort them out. I will spend about 20 minutes a day doing this and check to see if I delete some things that I need. this may take months!!
I guess that's what happens when your a download junkie:)
Now I have to pay the piper.

Thanks to all of you for your help.
