Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the only place it seems to be telling me to enter my serial number is on the registration page. Not sure if there is somewhere else I should be entering it.
You didn't say anything about what operating system you are using. This doesn't smell like an OS problem but if Windows Vista, 7, or Windows 8, make sure to right click all the trainz .exe files and set to run as administrator.
Not sure which 'registration page' you mean either. If
this page, then towards the page bottom are listed already registered serial numbers.
Carefully verify that against your code as well as checking in Content Manager's data discussed below:
I just went looking, including making several binary snoops with a hex editor, changing my config settings from loader twice to see what files changed, and so forth.
As I recall, the only place the serial number came during my TS2009 install was when it initialized running Trainz first time and asked me to enter it.
That "entered data" shows when entering the launcher screen after using the loader module (Trainz.exe -- what the desktop shortcut loads) and and then
clicking Options; The SERIAL is shown under the "
Planet Auran" tab. You should be able to verify your code is entered properly in the top pane there. It will not let you change the field.
If you have made a typo, and
that is wrong one place or the other, I fear you will have to uninstall and reinstall, but before doing that, submit a service ticket and get their advice. Good Luck. //Frank
