Content Manager Trainz 2012

I'm having some difficulties with Content Manager.
My computer is:

2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo
4gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 lastest drivers
Win XP Pro SP3 Fully updated
Trainz 2012 Build 53389

I get faulty icons with most items DS and I realize that there are comparability issues., but I don't have the option of editing in Content Creator Plus. Is this normal?
When I commit and asset I get this message: Failed to commit changes to asset #### due to file access error.
Also, the committing and installing function take like 3 or 4 minutes per object, not locos or routes just buildings. I have has Trainz in many forms before but never have had issues like this.
What's up? Should i re-install and hope for the best? What do?

I would suggest doing an extended database repair (from the File menu) - this should help resolve the issue.

As for the committing/installing function, it has to do several processes at the time, including texture compression and asset checking.

Thanks Shane I've tried that a couple times, with no change.
Something is weird because the CM has never behaved like that in earlier version, in my experience anyway.

Couple of questions here:

How much space do you have on your drive where you've installed Trainz? This can affect the performance of Content Manager as it and Windows struggle for space.

Also when was the last time you defragged your hard drive? A badly fragmented drive will definitely cause this too. If this is an SSD, don't attempt a defrag, otherwise it can damage the drive.
