The install obviously did not go smoothly. I found a corrupted file. To uninstall required a system restore. New installation is running OK.
 
Hi Everyone, fairly new to Trainz and I have TS2012. I didn't know where to ask, but wanted to know if you could help me...I have 2 problems...

1. I just started making my own route, and add Gresley A3 and the front Bogie is which, no texture. Also noticed there seems to be a texture issue around the boiler.
2. I tried to download a locomotive from the download station and when I try to load it, it doesn't show and when i look in missing dependencies its shows "trainz content"...but when i try to download this it doesn't allow me to download...any help would be massively appreciated. Thank you. Kind Regards John
 
Now that I'm actually fiddling with saving filter settings, I feel the need to ask. Is there a filter I can use that will show available updates to local files? The closest I've gotten is local out of date assets, but it seems like there should be a way to make a filter to scan for available updates for local assets flagged as out of date.
 
Ok, I'm having a very big problem with my DLS and seemingly everything that has to do with Trainz being on the internet. My content manager wont download (says unknown content error for EVERYTHING) and the multiplayer and iPortal just don't work. I know this is a DLS thread, but I think that if I fix the DLS, everything else will work out fine. My friend messed around with it and we got it to download someh=thing ONCe but never again after thet. PLEASE HELP! Everything else in Trainz works fine. Thanks!
 
Not sure this is the right place for this question, but as I start with T:ANE I would like to assign star ratings to assets to hide the zillions I don't plan to use. The pdf manual seems to say (p. 200) that in CM I can right-click on an asset, choose "context" menu, and assign stars, but I don't see a context menu in right click-- where is it? There are a number of discrepancies between the manual and the version that I bought, most of them minor, but this one is a big deal for me.

hi,how can i change the default game for auran dls? when i press download on dls,it open content manager and start download in TANE game. I want to start in TS 12. Thanks
 
Can anyone help me?

I'm new to this & hope someone out there can offer some help. I have the 2010 Engineer's Edition. When the loading process is finished my trains appear transparent & multicolored. I don't know how to get this fixed. Any help would be appreciated. Thx
 
hi, i have a new problem when i try to download from DLS. When i press "download with content manager" the content manager it open but the download dont start and on download helper dont apear the item. This is hapen after i reinstal my Windows 7. The download work only if i search the item in content manager but this method its anoyng for me. What ca i do? Thanks

... although it looks like nobody is coming here anymore, i try to wipe the cobwebs with a question about content manager ... which i nowhere else have found ... even after strugling through those 20 pages ... and besides: it is not a easy google-search ...

as CM is a database, with headings, lists and query's, i wonder why it's not really acting like one, when i want to make a copy of the whole page by selecting (all), copy and paste, like i usually do in for instance excel or another database-software ...
when i want to paste now in a datasheet or even notepad i only get the asset-id's and names ... and only in that order ... and not sorted how i have choosen ...
all the other columns are not displayed in the copy... now i have to take a screenshot per page ...
should be handy if there is a utility for ... or did i overlook something ...

Download "leak" when downloading assets in Content Manager

So this has been a persistent issue for me across multiple PC's and multiple re-installs of T:ANE. I have a 90-day FCT, and my downloads start at 3-5 MB/s, but they slowly trickle down to only 15kB/s, at which point it seems to lose connection and freeze the download panel. I've searched several other discussions that never had any response. So I'm curious if anyone else has been seeing this issue?

Your
FCT is independent of your Trainz version, and is independent of the PC you are using for downloading​

When did you purchase your 90-day FCT?

If the ticket has expired, then you will get the slow download speeds again. The freezing is due to the slower download server being overloaded most likely since
there haven't been any reports from others in the forums that I have seen.​

To tell if your ticket has expired, check the status on your login details in the T:ANE Launcher under Settings. You will have a graphic showing the amount of time left on your ticket. If it's expired, you can order a new one, a one-year is a good deal and they are offered quite often on sale.

Just purchased FCT 4-5 days ago. Has been activated, and verified that it is active within TANE settings and my Trainz account on the web. Slow speeds occur regardless of time of day. I'm almost certain that it is losing contact with the DLS after only a few seconds of downloading. App has been allowed through windows firewall. I can't seem to figure out why it loses connection after such a short time, every time I try to download an asset. Is there a certain port I should have forwarded in my router possibly? Internet speeds are healthy on my network 65Mb/s average. I'm running out of ideas to try.

The server is located in Houston TX so it's not like you have to go all the way around the world to get there and if you have decent consistent internet access for other sites, then there's something else to look at.​

So you've allowed the program through the firewall then I'd look at your A/V product. I would check if your antivirus might be stomping on the downloads. We've seen A/V programs get particularly mean when it comes to downloading innocuous Trainz stuff and even shutting down the program. Make sure that you have your A/V ignore the TANE executable and even exclude your Trainz data folders from real-time scanning. The reason for the latter is for performance.

There is no such thing in T:ANE. The downloads happen immediately when selected.
